Cactus League App
Privacy Policy
Effective August 2026
The Cactus League app gives you the Spring Training schedule, ballpark information,
a personal trip planner, and a Ballpark Passport for recording the parks you visit —
on your phone, working offline.
We are committed to keeping it simple, including your privacy.
The Short Version
The app does not:
- Require an account or a login
- Collect personal information
- Use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind
- Send your location, favorites, settings, or passport to us or anyone else
- Access your contacts or your photo library
- Upload the photos, notes, or ratings you add to your Ballpark Passport
Anything you create in the app stays on your device.
What Stays On Your Device
-
Your favorite games and trip plan.
Tapping the heart on a game saves it in the app’s own storage on your iPhone.
It is never sent anywhere.
-
Your Ballpark Passport.
Every visit you log — the ballpark, the date, your rating, your notes, and any photo
you attach — is written to the app’s own storage on your device. None of it is
uploaded, sent to us, or shared with anyone. We never see it.
-
Your settings, such as whether game-day reminders are switched on.
You can erase your trip plan and your entire passport, photos included, at any time
from Settings › Reset trip and passport inside the app.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
Permissions The App May Ask For
The app works fully without granting any of these. Each one is optional, is requested
only when you use the related feature, and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
-
Location (while using the app).
If you allow it, the app uses your device’s location solely to calculate how far
each ballpark is from where you are, and shows that distance on screen. The calculation
happens entirely on your device. Your location is never transmitted to us, never stored,
and never shared.
-
Calendar (adding events only).
If you tap “Add to Calendar” on a game, the app asks for permission to add that
single event to your calendar. Where iOS supports it, the app requests write-only access,
so it cannot read your existing events.
-
Notifications.
If you turn on game-day reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device
for the games in your trip plan. These are generated on the device — there are no push
notifications and no server involved.
-
Photos (one at a time, chosen by you).
When you attach a photo to a Ballpark Passport visit, iOS presents its own photo picker
and hands the app only the single image you select. The app is never granted access to
your photo library, which is why iOS does not ask you to approve photo access. The image
you choose is copied into the app’s own storage and stays on your device.
Information We Receive
To keep the schedule current, the app periodically downloads the published Spring Training
schedule, team, and ballpark information from cactusleague.com. These are ordinary requests
for public information.
Our web server keeps standard technical logs — such as IP address and time of request — as
any web server does. These logs are not used to identify you, are not linked to anything you
do in the app, and are not shared.
Analytics & Tracking
The app contains no analytics tools, advertising identifiers, third-party
SDKs, or tracking technologies of any kind. We do not track you across apps or websites.
External links (tickets, team websites, maps and directions) may be governed by their own
privacy policies. Please review those policies when visiting third-party sites.
Home Screen Widget
If you add the Cactus League widget to your Home Screen, the app shares a small summary
with it — the next game in your trip and how many ballparks you have stamped. This is
stored in a private container that only the app and its own widget can read. It is not
sent anywhere.
Children’s Privacy
The app does not collect information from anyone, including children.
Policy Updates
If future updates affect privacy practices, this page will be revised accordingly and the
effective date above will be updated.
