Our Nonprofit Partners

At the heart of Cactus League Spring Training are the nonprofit organizations that dedicate countless volunteer hours and community resources to making each season possible. From welcoming fans at the gates to supporting stadium operations, these civic groups serve as the backbone of the Spring Training experience in Arizona.

Each partner organization not only plays a vital role in hosting Major League Baseball teams and enhancing the fan experience, but also reinvests directly into the communities they represent. Through charitable raffles, scholarships, grants, and youth programming, they have donated millions of dollars and provided opportunities that reach far beyond the ballpark.

These all-volunteer and nonprofit groups embody the spirit of service and community pride, ensuring that Spring Training remains a uniquely meaningful tradition. Their commitment both on and off the field makes them the true champions of the Cactus League.

The Mesa HoHoKams are a civic volunteer nonprofit formed in 1951 to bring Spring Training to Mesa. Today, they serve as the host organization for Major League Baseball at Sloan Park and Hohokam Stadium, supporting the Chicago Cubs and Athletics during the Cactus League season. Beyond their role in baseball, the HoHoKams are deeply committed to the community—raising funds for local charities and youth sports through their foundation, charitable raffles, and annual events. Since 2000, they have donated millions of dollars to strengthen and support the East Valley.

The Peoria Diamond Club is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1993 to support Spring Training at Peoria Sports Complex while giving back to the community. Serving as the host organization for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres during the Cactus League season, the PDC fuels its mission through partnerships, sponsorships, donations, and the dedication of its “Red Shirt” volunteers. Beyond baseball, they’ve awarded millions in grants, scholarships, and youth programs across Peoria—and in the 2024–25 giving year alone, supported 53 programs, handed out scholarships to dozens of students, and empowered countless local nonprofits.

The Scottsdale Charros, whose name means “gentlemen riders,” are a volunteer-driven nonprofit of business and civic leaders formed in 1961. As the long-time host organization for Spring Training at Scottsdale Stadium, the Charros play a vital role in the Cactus League by supporting the facility and enhancing the fan experience. Beyond baseball, their mission extends deep into the community, championing youth sports, advancing education, funding charitable causes, and preserving Scottsdale’s rich Western heritage.

The Surprise Sundancers are a volunteer-driven nonprofit formed in 2002 to support Spring Training at Surprise Stadium. As the only nonprofit host organization in the Cactus League to support three teams—the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants—the Sundancers play a key role in stadium operations and the fan experience. In addition, they raise funds through raffles and special events to provide youth scholarships, assist local charities, and support community facilities such as DreamCatcher Park in the Northwest Valley

The Tempe Diablos are a nonprofit civic organization dedicated to strengthening the Tempe community through leadership, service, and philanthropy. Known for their signature support of education and youth initiatives, the Diablos provide critical resources to programs that create lasting opportunities for growth and success. Their charitable investments focus on projects that deliver measurable impact, ensuring that Tempe’s students, families, and local organizations thrive today and into the future. Since 1968, they have been closely connected to Spring Training at Tempe Diablo Stadium, supporting the ballpark and welcoming fans each season.
