Ron Santo was a fixture in the Cactus League for decades. He played third base for the Chicago Cubs from 1960-1973, winning five Gold Gloves and making nine National League All-Star teams. In 1990, Santo returned to work with the Cubs as a radio broadcaster, bringing his passion for the team to millions of listeners and including broadcasts of Cactus League games in subsequent years. His boundless enthusiasm for the Cubs created a timeless connection with the team’s faithful followers, and Santo could often be seen signing autographs and posing for photos with fans during spring training.
